Define PSB. Use the BBC as an example in your answer. 5 marks.
PSB is public service broadcasting, meaning it is made for the public. It has no advertisements, and its source of funding is through TV licences. PSB's strive to entertain audiences and to inform them by aiming to improve society. The BBC is a good example of a PSB. They have no advertisements and their main source of funding is through TV licenses. The BBC's aim to to inform, educate and entertain.

Explain what the role of OFCOM is and how they regulate television. 5 marks.
OFCOM regulates all British television through a set of rules called the broadcasting code. They also define the watershed, meaning programmes have to be careful about what to put on in order to stay appropriate. For example, Cuffs, a pre-watershed program have to make sure their program is appropriate for children, which is part of this broadcasting code.
