How is Media Language used to create meaning?

Language - Sound
Sound is used in this clip by adding intensifying music to create suspense towards the audience. 25 seconds in, when 'Merlin' states one of the characters doesn't have a parachute, it cuts to the skydivers in panic and the music suddenly changes to suspenseful and fast paced. The intense, loud music is a use of non-diegetic sound which emphasises the panic and fear within the characters. This gives off a dramatic and frightening feeling towards the audience.

Language - Editing
As the clip progresses, and 'Eggsy' and 'Roxy' are both landing from their parachute, the speed of editing is more intense. At 2 minutes and 38 seconds in the clip, Eggsy pulls her parachute and is holding onto Roxy before they get to the ground. This part of the clip is edited so that the multiple cuts between different camera angles are very rapid. This is because Eggsy and Roxy are put in a lot of danger, and the speed of editing is much faster which gives off panic and a stressful effect for the audience.

Representation - Stereotypes
This clip conformes to the typical stereotype of a 'bully'. At 1 minute and 6 seconds in, the character 'Rufus' pulls his parachute before anyone else, counteracting Eggsy's plan. The character Rufus is represented in the film as one of the 'bullies', his character does not like Eggsy (the main character). Therefore the audience dislikes him as Rufus pulls off the selfish act of putting himself in front of everyone else, which stops Eggsy's plan from working.
